What We Believe

We believe the HOLY SCRIPTURE TO BE THE VERY WORD OF GODand that “all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for correction, for reproof; and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work,” and is therefore our only infallible, inerrant and authoritative rule of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe in the ONE TRIUNE GOD, self-existent and self-revealing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each having a particular ministry in God’s relation to His creation and people. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the eternal Word and Only Begotten Son, who, without any change in His divine Person, became man by miracle of the virgin birth, thus to continue forever as true God and true Man; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself in substitutionary death upon the cross, and that He arose bodily from the grave and was glorified; that as our Savior He ascended into Heaven, there to appear before the face of God as our Advocate and Intercessor. Philippians 2:5-11; John 1:1-5, 14

We believe in the HOLY SPIRIT, the divine Agent in nature, revelation and redemption; that He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgement; that He regenerates, baptizes, indwells, seals and anoints all who become children of God through Christ; that He further empowers, guides and teaches, sanctifies and fills believers who daily surrender to Him. Genesis 1:2; John 16:7-14; Romans 8:11-17

We believe that ALL MEN ARE BY NATURE AND CHOICE SINFUL AND LOST and are under the righteous judgment and wrath of God and have within themselves no possible means of salvation. Romans 3:23; 6:23

We believe in SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH, that salvation is the free gift of God, neither merited nor secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who secures all believers. Ephesians 2:8-10, 7

We believe in the EXISTENCE OF SATAN, who originally was created a holy and perfect being, but through pride and wicked ambition rebelled against God, thus becoming utterly depraved in character, the great adversary of God and His people. Genesis 3:1; Isaiah 14:12-17; John 8:44

We believe in the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST that His coming in the air to rapture His Church, which is our blessed hope, is always imminent; that He will later return from Heaven visibly and gloriously to reign on earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 1 John 3:2-3

We believe in FUTURE LIFE, BODILY RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL JUDGMENT. At death, the souls of believers go to be with Christ in Heaven. At the Second Coming of Christ, the souls of believers in Heaven will be reunited with their resurrected bodies and join Christ and the raptured believers. Later, when Christ comes with His own to reign on earth, the non-believing dead will be resurrected and with the nonbelievers then living will be judged and condemned eternally. 2 Corinthians 5:8; Romans 8:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20:12-15

We believe in the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, with each having definite and distinct spheres of responsibility. Mark 12:17; Romans 13:1-3

We believe in the PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS, that because Christ is our Great High Priest, through Him every born-again person has a direct access into God’s presence without the need of a human priest. 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Peter 2:5, 9

We believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, that He alone is the Head of the Body of Christ, into which all true believers are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit. Colossians 1:17-19; Philippians 2:9-11

We believe in the INDEPENDENCE AND AUTONOMY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH, that each New Testament church, comprised of born-again baptized believers, is free to govern itself without ecclesiastical interference, and is directly accountable to God. Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29; Ephesians 4:11-12

We believe the ORDINANCES given to the local church are two: Baptism (by immersion) and the Lord’s Supper. Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
